Online Ping Tool
This tool Pings a server (domain or IP) and shows you the results. If any packets are dropped, you will find out here.
(The pings may take a few seconds...)
Ping is a computer network administration utility to test the reachability of a server. In addition to response times, IT Tools like these also show you information about the IP address and server that a website is hosted on. So it's also a simple way to find out what is the IP address of a domain or server.
Response times under 200ms are usually good enough for general internet browsing (100ms if the server is in the same country). For servers on another continent, 200 to 400 ms is adequate, depending on the distance & path data has to travel (see our traceroute tool). From 400 ms and upwards, browsing will still work but feel a bit slow.
For online gaming, a speed around 100ms or less should be OK - over LAN/Ethernet, you should reach speeds around 30-40 ms easily.
