Online Traceroute tool
The traceroute tool lets you trace the path of data to a server. If there are problems along the way, a traceroute may help you identify them.
About traceroute
Traceroute traces the route that a packet of information takes to get from your computer to another computer connected to the Internet. This tool shows you the route a packet travels from the manytools.org server to the server you entered the address of.
You can clearly see the amount of routers ('nodes') involved. Some of them have pretty descriptive names that allow you to see how the internet works. For example, you can sometimes clearly identify the points at which you enter another layer of the internet, like entering another country or crossing the atlantic link.
